Cromer Shines for the Kent Relocation Services 2025 NSW Senior PGA Championship Pro Am
Posted on: 24 October
Once again, Cromer Golf Club was on full display for the Kent Relocation Services 2025 NSW Senior PGA Championship Pro Am — and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
The event kicked off on Sunday afternoon with the Sponsors’ Cocktail Opening Party, featuring a 90-metre PGA Pro Shootout to the 8th green for a $1,000 cash prize, kindly donated by Graphite Energy.
Wayne Rogers took home the prize with a superb shot to just 1.4 metres. A few of our talented Cromer Juniors also had a go, with Arkie Riches winning a dozen Titleist balls and a cap for her impressive effort.
Round 1 – Monday
Players were greeted by a perfect spring morning. Course Superintendent Leon Hennesy and his team did an outstanding job transforming the course from the super-wet conditions of August into tournament-ready perfection. The course was presented in pristine condition for professionals, sponsors, and members alike.
In the morning shotgun, local Sydney pro Anthony Summers led the way with a superb 3-under (67).
In the afternoon, David Diaz fired a brilliant 5-under (65) to lead from Scott Barr on 3-under (67), with only three other players finishing under par.
Round 2 – Tuesday
Although a little cooler, conditions remained ideal for golf. Scoring proved tougher, with only two players breaking par.
Scott Barr continued his fine form, following his opening 67 with a 1-under (69) for a two-round total of (67,69 -136), taking out the title ahead of David Diaz (65,72 – 137) and Anthony Summers (67,71 – 138).
Former Cromer professional Nick Robb also showed he can still mix it with the best, posting solid rounds of 72 and 74.
